Laura “Wray” Streeter, 97 of Canadian, died May 13, 2017 in Canadian.

Services will be 10:00 AM Monday, May15, 2017 at The River Ministries, with Donald Hill, Pastor, officiating. Services are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Canadian.

Burial will follow at 3:00 PM Mountain Time Monday, May 15 at the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Baca County, Colorado. Graveside services under the direction of Dykes Funeral Home, Walsh, Colorado.

Laura Irene “Wray” Streeter was born April 28, 1920 to John Daniel & Mary Elizabeth “Root” Wray in the Root family dugout in Baca County, Colorado. She married Jim Streeter on June 1, 1940 in Guymon, Oklahoma, they were married for 59 years. He preceded her in death on Sept. 25, 1999.

Mr. & Mrs. Streeter moved their family from Cimarron County, Okla. to Roberts County, Texas in the early 50’s. The family said “it was the best move they ever made.” Mrs. Streeter was a Pioneer Homemaker and devoted her life to Jim and their girls. She enjoyed feeding the geese at the Duck Ponds in Canadian. Mrs. Streeter was interested in Genealogy and the history of Santa Fe Trail.

She was also preceded in death by four sisters.

Survivors include 3 daughters: Lonita Beaty & husband Clois of Tulsa, OK; Noveta Stephenson & husband Delane of Canadian; Nadean Morris & husband Floyd of Pampa. 7 Grandchildern: Patricia Hamilton & husband Bob; Sheri Haye & husband Ron; Barry Stephenson & wife Paige; Bobby Stephenson & wife Kendra; James Morris; Amy Lewis; and Steven Morris & wife Shawn. 16 Great Grandchildren, 12 Great Great Grandchildren and a host of Nieces & Nephews.
