A viewing will take place at Bishop Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on August 1, 2021 with family greeting visitors from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. There will be no formal memorial service pursuant to Lucy's request.
In lieu of flowers, Lucy requested that donations be made to the Hudson Strong Foundation at BancFirst in McAlester, Oklahoma.
Lucy blessed many people with her caring nature, always putting others before herself. Her family meant everything to her and you could always hear her bragging about how many children, grandkids, great-grandkids, and great-great-grandkids she had. She loved to sing hymnals and study bible verses. Lucy was often seen helping other residents by making their bed, calming those who were having a difficult day, making baskets, cooking, praying, and all while having the brightest smile on her face.
She attended Abbas House Church of God for worship. Throughout her life, she has relied deeply on her faith in God's will and lived her life as a faithful Christian.
Lucy was preceded in death by her loving parents: James and Mary Meggs; husbands: Arnold Barnett, who was killed during the Korean War, and James Nobles; sisters: Lucinda Ogle, Doris James, and Dorothy Stovall; brother: James Meggs; daughter: Carol Moore; grandchildren: Joshua Moore and Natalie Fox; and stepson: David Nobles.
In death Lucy was survived by her children: Donna and Albert Ford, Gwenda and Willie Fox, Judy Justice, James and LaJohnna Nobles, Deborah Douglas, and Rebecca and Anthony Biafore; her grandchildren: Twila and Billy Brown, Billy Fox, Lori and Tyler Graham, Kevin Fox, Angie and J Michael Miller, Deanna and Phillip Coxsey, Cheryl and Randy Kelley, Amber Nobles, Michael and Cortney Nobles, Monty Nobles, Sarah Douglas, Mariah Douglas, Jaime Moore, and Casey Biafore; 30 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Although we will all miss her greatly, we have been very blessed to spend these years with such a wonderful friend, sister, mother, and grandmother.
Special recognition to the McAlester Nursing Center and Heartland Hospice for all the love and care they provided to Lucy.
