Jerry was raised in his native home by his mother and older siblings. After graduation, he joined the US Army and served in the 81st Infantry Wildcat Division. Following an honorable discharge, he left the Army to attend the Georgia Institute of Technology. Soon afterwards, he accepted a position with the Georgia Department of Transportation where he served a 30+ year career as a civil engineer in the Traffic and Safety Department. Subsequently, he continued to serve his country in the Army Reserves.
While working at the DOT, he met and married his wife and love of his life Amy and moved to Powder Springs.
He is preceded in death by his parents William and Josephine Dubberly; his first-born son Jerry Joseph Dubberly, Jr.; and twelve brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Amelia "Amy" Dubberly of Powder Springs, GA.; son Jeffrey Dubberly, of Powder Springs, GA.; daughters Debra (Scott) Ragsdale of Powder Springs, GA., and Dana (Greg) Humphries of Dallas, GA.; grandchildren Michael & Morgan Dubberly, Casey and Kami Ragsdale, Hannah and Aaron Humphries, several nieces and nephews, and his sister Elsie (Bernard) Ginn of Savannah, GA.
He was of Methodist faith and a long-time member of McEachern Memorial United Methodist Church in Powder Springs.
