Memorial services will be hled Friday noon in Murray Eighth Ward LDS Chapel for Mrs. Margaretta Gibson Ashton Caldwell, 80. Mrs. Caldwell died Tuesday at her residence of causes incident to age.
She was born February 26, 1875 in Salt Lake City to Jacob and Margaret Robertson Gibson. One July 10, 1890 she was married to Alfred Ashton. He later died and she was married to J.W. Caldwell, July 29, 1919. He also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Caldwell was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, Murray City Fire Department. She was active in LDS Relief Society.
Survivors include the following sons and daughters: Clyde J. Ashton, Mrs. A.A. Firmage, and Mrs. E. G. Alsson, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Pearl Meine, San Leandro, California, 41 grandchildren and 96 great-grandchildren; stepsons and step-daughters: Arthur, Robert, Ernest, and Vern Caldwell, and Mrs. Olive Mounteer, all of Murray, and Pat Caldwell of California.
Interment will be in Murray City Cemetery.
