Son of Roland and Lucinda Rising.

He married Nancy Flint on May 18, 1842 in Braintree, Vermont.

Abial Rising, who had been seriously ill since last January, suffering a general breaking down, died Saturday night, aged 78 years.

The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at 1 o'clock, Rev. V.M. Hardy officiating. Interment was in the cemetery on Braintree hill.

He left four children, E.N. Rising and Mrs. N.C. Greene of this place, Geo. A. Rising of Barre and Mrs. A.F. Grover of Lawrence, Mass., all of whom were present at the funeral, the latter arriving Monday morning. One sister, Mrs. Julius Kent of Roxbury, also survives.

The deceased was a member of the Congregational church here. He was born in Warren and moved from there to Braintree, where he made his home until about 30 years ago, since which time he has been a resident of this village. He was employed for about 14 years by A.W. Tewksbury & Sons. For the past 10 years he had resided with Mrs. N.C. Greene. His wife died about 30 years ago.
