Olga Wigh Marczewski, formerly of Wallingford, CT, passed away on June 27, 2021, in Framingham, MA.
She was 91.
The beloved wife of Burton Marczewski for 61 years, Olga was born in Wallingford on March 10, 1930, daughter of the late Stephen and Mary (Godo) Wigh.
She lived on South Cherry Street for many years and attended the former Washington Street School and Lyman Hall High School.
While working at the H.L. Judd Company she met her soon-to-be-husband Burton Marczewski in 1947; they were married in 1949.
They resided for several years on Hillside Lane in Yalesville, returning to Olga's childhood home on South Cherry Street in the early 1960s where they raised their son John and lived until Burton's retirement in 1986.
Shortly afterward they moved to Florida, where they spent many of their retirement years, returning to the northeast in 2004.
In 2010, shortly before Burton's death, Olga moved into the Carmel Terrace assisted living facility in Framingham, MA.

A long-time member of the Evangelical & Reformed United Church of Christ (formerly the Hungarian Reformed Church), she participated in many activities and groups, sang in the choir, served as treasurer, and was always on hand to help prepare food and do baking and organizing for bake sales and events.

Throughout her years in Wallingford, Olga was also a dedicated member of the community, serving as library and cafeteria aide at the former Washington Street School, participating in town politics, and even managing a few successful campaigns for town and state office candidates.
She was a wealth of information on family and town history and told many stories of what life was like in mid-20th century Wallingford.

She will be sadly missed by her son John and his wife Maura of Holliston, MA, and her grandchildren Erin and Danny.
Olga was predeceased by her daughter Carol Lynn in 1962, her husband Burton in 2010, and brothers Stephen and Joseph Wigh.

Calling hours and a memorial service were held at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home in Wallingford, followed by burial at the In Memoriam Cemetery.
