Paul A. Billings, 58, of 1506 25th, died at 3:15 a.m. Sunday at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis following a lengthy illness.

He retired in 1983 from Cummins Engine Co. where he was suggestion administrator 40 years.

Funeral service will be conducted by the Rev. Bruce Buckley at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hathaway-Myers Funeral Chapel. There will be no calling hours. Entombment will be at Garland Brook Mausoleum.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Billings was born Oct. 5, 1926, in Lansing, Mich., the son of George and Lenna B. Smith Billings. He married Marian Coy in Indianapolis, Nov. 19, 1943, and she survives. He was a member of East Columbus United Methodist Church and was a Navy veteran of the second world war.

Additional survivors include one son, Paul Alan Billings of LaGrange; three sisters, Ruth Rees of 3211 Sycamore, Mildred Mackie of Lansing, and Jean Luzier of Memphis, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Andrew, Laura and Mary Billings of LaGrange, and several nieces and nephews.
