Alma Riney, age 89, passed away July 23, 2021 at the Delta South Skilled Nursing Facility in Sikeston, MO.
She was born April 21, 1932 in Bernie, MO, daughter of the late Athel "A.E." and Margaret "Maggie" Reynolds McConnell.
She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene and had co-0wned and operated Carol's Cards & Gifts until March 2002.
On April 16, 1949 she married Joe Riney, who preceded her in death July 7, 2010.
She is survived by one son, Mike (Marsha) Riney of Sikeston; two brothers, Jr. McConnell and Gerald (Judy) McConnell both of Sikeston; two sisters, Brenda (Dennie) Vaughan of Jackson, MO and Martha Howell of Paducah, KY; one son-in-law, Clint Holman of Sikeston; and one granddaughter, Melissa Holman. She leaves five special friends behind, Charlene Stone, Sheila Noles, Jennifer Tilley, ReJeania Givins, and Teresa Countz.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Donna Riney, infant, and Carol Holman; two brothers, L.C. McConnell and Earl McConnell; and one sister, Dortha Brown.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 27, from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral services at 11:00 a.m. at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston. Jerry Adams will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Bernie Cemetery at Bernie, MO.
