Penny was born July 21, 1911 in Bramwell and lived 90 years in her home on Renova Street. At her death, she was residing at Heartland of Martinsburg, Martinsburg. She was retired from General Telephone Company following 40 years of service.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Lida Richardson of Bristol, Va., on Dec. 15, 2003.
She is survived by a son and his wife, Richard and Margaret Morgan of Cape Charles, Va.; a daughter and her husband, Billie and David Hurst of Hedgesville; brothers, Frank Witt of Grundy, Va. and Bill Witt of Abingdon, Va.; sisters, Dorothy Fitzwater of Hedgesville and Hope Craft of Shamokin, Pa.; grandchildren, Nancy Morgan of Hedgesville, Richard and Timothy Morgan of Charleston, Lida Morgan of Las Vegas, Nev., Dr. Erik Hurst of Huntington, and Lisa Thomas of Martinsburg. She also leaves four great-grandchildren and wonderful friends, Eva Hill of Bramwell and Toni Stout of Martinsburg.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with the Rev. Dale Compton officiating.
Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell.
