Mattie Lee Villa (nee Lucas), 85, of Kansas City, MO, left the bondages of earth on June 19, 2011, at the home of her daughter in Cartersville, GA. She was born June 7, 1926, in Little Rock, Arkansas, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wesley and Martha Lucas. She married Joe Villa Jr., on July 27, 1946, and they made their home in Kansas City. He preceded her in death on June 8, 2006. Also preceding her in death were her son, Joe Villa III; her grandsons, Sammy Pingel and Joe Villa IV; and her twin sister, Mary Whitaker. Left to mourn her passing are her sister, Margie Miller; daughter, Mary Pingel (Tim); daughter-in-law, Cindy Villa; grandsons, Dan Pingel; Rob and Mike Villa (Nikki); Tommy Davila (Timberlyn); granddaughters, Vikki Mullins and Josie Villa; granddaughter in-law Rachel Villa; and great-grandchildren, Zachary, Sy, TJ, Olivia, Kenneth, Xavier, Aedan, Gage, and Grace. She also leaves many nephews and nieces and a host of friends who will miss her giving nature and caring smile. Mattie loved and spoiled her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and they brought her much happiness; she was quick to share their accomplishments with anyone who would listen. She also served the Order of the Eastern Star, dedicated to charitable and educational purposes, and held numerous offices through the years. She was Past Worthy Matron of OES 345 Chapter. She worked for 37 years at Broadway National Bank which later became Bank of America at the same location. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 24. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 25. Both are at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Road, KCMO 64138; interment following services in Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would sincerely appreciate donations to the Northeast Kansas Chapter of Bikers Against Child Abuse, PO Box 8653, Topeka, KS 66608; or to the East Gate OES Chapter 3516 Blue Spring Cutoff, KCMO 64133.
