Margaret Saxon Phifer, of Mt. Holly, NC passed away peacefully, on July 17th, 2021 at the age of 92. She was the wife of the late Lewis Edward Phifer, and daughter of David H. Saxon and Sarah E. Abernathy. "Peggy", as she was known to family and friends was a wonderful mother, amazing grandmother, and fabulous great grandmother. She graduated from Harding High School in 1947, worked at Southern Bell Telephone Company and Saxon's Lunch at Charlotte Pipe and Foundry. Her love for playing sports, especially basketball and softball, and enjoyed attending Bob Cat's, Hornet's, and Panther's games. Was an active member of New Covenant United Methodist Church in Mt. Holly. Enjoyed camping and loved to travel with family. She loved the joys of life on Mountain Island lake where she lived for 34 years. She was a member of Mecklenburg Shrine Club for many years where she loved to dance and supported Shriner events.

She is preceded in death by her one sister, Alice "Sue" Saxon Cain. Surviving are her only daughter Patricia Phifer Copeland and husband Michael Copeland of Mt. Holly, two grandaughters, seven great grandchildren, nieces and nephews as well as many friends and loved ones.
