Juanita Waddle, age 78 years, 9 months, and 18 days, passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2020 in Corbin, Kentucky and was placed in the care of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home.


Funeral services were held Sunday, October 18, 2020, in the chapel of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home. Burial was in the Mill Springs National Cemetery in Nancy, Kentucky.


She was born December 26, 1941 in Jellico, Tennessee to Estil Stephens and Pauline Farmer Stephens. Juanita was a member of the Langdon Street Baptist Church and of the Laurel Heights Chapter of the Order of the Easter Star for over fifty years, where she had served as Grand Worthy Matron. She spent her life in service to others, beginning her career at Murphy's Furniture and Appliance and later working at Big M Discount. Juanita was well-known for her smiling face and exceptional customer service as she worked for Lumber King for twenty four years before her retirement. She always enjoyed spending time with her family. Juanita loved fishing and Conway Twitty.


Preceding her in death were her parents, her first husband, Ancil Jones, her second husband, Noah Waddle, a brother, Owen Stephens, and sisters, Yvonne Cornet, and Sue Davis.


Survivors include brothers, Ray Stephens and his wife, Mindy, of Edmonton and Ronnie Stephens of Pine Knot, sisters, Linda Grimes and her husband, Bruce, of Burlington, and Doris Pryor of Pine Knot, a childhood lifelong friend, Willa Mae Davenport, special daughter, Goldie Byrd, and special friends, Bill and Mary Singleton.
