Thomas B. Ditzler, 79, of Pottsville, passed away Friday, July 16, at home surrounded by family.

Born in Schuylkill Haven, on Jan. 28, 1942, he was a son of the late Solomon Dewey Ditzler and Bessie (Sterner) Ditzler.

He was the husband of Patricia L. (Dullard) Ditzler.

Tom was of the Lutheran faith.

He was formerly employed in the mining industry and had also worked as a self-employed truck driver.

Tom was a social member of the AMVETS, Pottsville.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by three brothers, Ronald, Donald and Kenneth Ditzler; and a sister, Carol Ahrensfield.

In addition to his wife, he is also survived by four daughters, Deborah, wife of Greg Reed, of Auburn, Melissa, wife of Jim Close, of Peach Mountain, Carol Jean Reigel, of Middleport, and Christine, wife of Joe Cookson, of Pottsville; and two sons, Robert, husband of Chrissy Ditzler, of Tremont, and Thomas, husband of Lucy Ditzler, of Reiley Township. Tom is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Larry Ditzler, of Lake Wynonah.

A Celebration of Life funeral service will be conducted by Pastor Jack Murray at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 21, at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home Inc., Schuylkill Haven. A viewing will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Manbeck's Cemetery, Rock.
