Roger Henry Blair, age 67, passed away on Thursday, July 15, 2021, at Hamilton Hospital in Olney, Texas. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney. Inurnment will be at a later date with a private gathering of family at Restland Cemetery in Olney, Texas.
Roger was born on January 20, 1954 in Olney, Texas to the late Roy and Helen (Parish) Blair. He worked many years in the oilfield and later moved to South Texas where he fell in love with the ocean and the simplicity of life there. He was the Captain of a shrimp boat for many years while living there before moving back to Olney. Roger loved fishing, playing chess, hanging out on the porch spending time with family and friends and giving his grandkids rides on his motorized wheelchair. He was a simple man and loved the simple things in life.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, LeeAnn Campbell.
Roger is survived by his daughter, Helen Guerra and husband Daniel of Olney, Texas; son, Roy Blair and wife Josie of Laredo, Texas; and daughter, Felicia Blair of Olney, Texas; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Roydell and Doug Gregory of Blanchard, Oklahoma and Debbie and Raymond Tedrow of Megargel, Texas; nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
