LEANN'S OBITUARY

Katherine LeAnn Shallenburger, 55, of Carl Junction, Missouri passed away Friday, July 9, 2021 at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

LeAnn was born June 20, 1966 in Houston, Texas to the late William and Norma (Dawson) Brown. She moved with her family as a young child to Carl Junction, Missouri. LeAnn was a 1984 graduate of Carl Junction High School. After graduation she attended Missouri Southern State College where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice in 1988.

LeAnn worked as a security guard for Famous Barr Department Store and a substitute teacher in the 2-3 building of the Carl Junction School District. She then worked for many years as an Administrative Assistant at BLS Industries in Carl Junction. This was a business that her father started in 1976. They were all jobs she enjoyed and had fond memories of.

LeAnn married Danny Lee Shallenburger on May 2, 1992 in Joplin, Missouri. Together they had four beloved children, Mitchell, Sarah, Kelsey and Kody. LeAnn and Danny shared 29 precious years together before her passing.

LeAnn had a smile that could light up the room. Her laugh was infectious and she never met a stranger. LeAnn had an encouraging and uplifting spirit and was always there for those she loved. She enjoyed playing golf, loved anything green and her very favorite place was at the beach with her toes in the sand. She was funny, sarcastic, and just plain silly at times. LeAnn made sure to show the kids what unconditional love was and she lived life to the fullest. Family was everything to LeAnn, she cherished the time spent and memories created with her husband, children, grandchildren, family, and friends. To know LeAnn was to love her, and she will be greatly missed by all.

In addition to her parents, LeAnn was preceded in death by a brother, Mike Brown and niece, Amanda Waterman.

LeAnn is lovingly survived by her husband, Danny; children, Mitchell Shallenburger, Sarah Shallenburger, Kelsey West (Kodey), Kody Shallenburger (Marley); grandchildren, Ashton Harris, Hudson West; brother, Tom Brown (Shirley); sister, Brenda Waterman (Mark), sister-in-law, Pattye Brown; together with many extended family and friends.
