Born July 27, 1942 in Foster Township, MN, he was the son of the late Edward Duvall and Virginia Irene Nickerson Duvall. Ron lived in Saline County his entire life and was a 1961 graduate of Malta Bend High School, and for those who remember him from those days, many knew him as "Buck". On April 6, 1963 he married Phyllis Keeney who survives of the home. Ron began his career at F.M. Stampers as a truck driver and remained there for 39 years retiring as the warehouse manager for Con-Agra Foods. He also owned and operated Duvall Lawn Service and mowed numerous yards for years.
To say that Ron was involved in the community would be an understatement. While he never boasted about all the things he was involved in, many were blessed by his dedication. He was a member of the University of Missouri Extension Club, Marshall Optimist Club, Marshall Chamber of Commerce where he had served as president, and remained a member, and was instrumental in making sure that flags were placed all across town with the Chamber's Partners in Patriotism. Ron served on the Center for Human Services board of directors, was an avid bowler, serving as secretary for many years for the bowling league, and was proud to be a blood donor having donated over 14 gallons. He was always doing for other people, especially kids, and was honored to play Santa Claus. Ron served on the Marshall City Council for many years, as well as serving as mayor pro tem, and was instrumental in keeping the Marshall Community Food Pantry going strong to help those in need. He was honored to be named the 2001 Marshall Citizen of the Year as well as receiving the Al Bunch Humanitarian Award.
In addition to his wife, Phyllis; he is survived by three children: Jeff Duvall (Donna) of Greenville, TX; Debbie Morales (Gilberto) of Marshall and Susan Duvall of Marshall; two granddaughters, Lindsey Vaughn (Bryan) and Emily Gazzola (Wynn); two great grandchildren, London and Finley Vaughn; honorary granddaughter, Kelly Thompson (Sean) and their two children, Mia and Yumi; an uncle, Phil Nickerson of Columbia; as well as nieces, nephews and other extended family.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Carolyn Lawrence; and one brother, Eddie Duvall.
