He was born Jan 27, 1921, in Ellis to Jacob B and Eva (Spies) Bollig.
He married Ella Mae Dome on April 19, 1950. She died July 26, 1971. He was a farmer and a member of St Joseph Catholic Church and the VFW, both of Hays.
Survivors include a son, Dana, Hays; a daughter, Lana, Hays; three brothers, Simon, Ellis, Richard, Great Bend, and Gilbert, Clayton; two sisters, Mary Reinert, Denver, and Georgine Windholz, Thornton, CO.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Buddy.
Services were Aug 31 at St Joseph Catholic Church with Father Michael Scully officiating; burial with military honors by the VFW in St Joseph Cemetery.
Hays Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
Memorials are suggested to the Hospice of Hays Medical Center.
