A homemaker and resident of Belle Rose, she died at 6:50 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 1, 1998, in Donaldsonville. Visiting was at Ourso Funeral Home, Donaldsonville, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday. Visiting at the funeral home, 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Jules Catholic Church, Belle Rose, at 10 a.m. Tuesday, conduced by the Rev. Chito Palang. Interment in church cemetery.

Survived by husband, Claude Hidalgo Sr., Belle rose; five daughters and sons-in law, Virgie H. and Leonardd Verret, Belle Rose, Evelyn H. and Douglas Hymel, St Amant, Shirley H and Charles Campesi and Theresa H. and Jervis Campesi all of White Castle and Geralyn H. and James LeBoeuf, Donaldsonville; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Claude Jr and Frances Hidalgo, Belle Rose, Merrick and Ida Hidalgo, Donaldsonville, and Edward Hidalgo, Belle Rose; two sisters, Inez Troxclair, Napoleonville and Jeane Gros, Labadieville; a brother Bernard Aucoin, Bridge City; 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by parents, Edward and Ida Alleman Aucoin; a sister Stella A. Coupel; four brothers, Claiborne, Johnny, Clebert and Ulysses Aucoin; a daughter-in-law, Brenda T. Hialgo; and a grandchild, Keith Verret. She was a member of St. Jules Catholic Church.
