Vest Shelton, 79, Wheatley, died 2 pm Thursday at Hughes rest home, Owenton, after an illness of about one year. A native of Owen County, he was a retired farmer and belonged to the Dallasburg Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Hallie Shelton (this was his second wife Hallie Green-note from Ann); four daughters, Mrs. Bill Cook of Owenton, Mrs. Carl Hunter of New Liberty, Mrs. Ola Hensley of Crossroads, Mrs. Frank Barberick of Covington; a brother, Corman of Phoenix, AZ; a sister, Mrs Pearl Risinger of Louisville, a step-daughter Mrs. Orval Jordan of Louisville, a step-son Edward Stewart of Wheatley; 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, a step-grandchild and two step great-grandchildren.

Services were 2 pm Saturday at Kemper & Arnold with Rev. Troy Abell officiating. Burial in Beech Grove cemetery.
