Mrs. George C. Williams, the former Miss Nannie McFarland of Springvale, Hamblen county, died in a local hospital of Roanoke, Virginia on Monday, January 16th. Funeral services will be held at Brooks Mortuary at two o'clock on Wednesday afternoon with Dr. S. H. Hay officiating. Interment in the McFarland lot at Jarnagin cemetery.
Mrs. Williams had resided in Roanoke for the past thirty-five years The author of the book, 'Documentary Madness' published in 1910, she was an artist and a woman of many gifts. The body will arrive in Morristown at three o'clock Wednesday morning, and will remain at Brooks Mortuary until time for the services.
She was a sister of the late Robert McFarland, and of Mrs. Evelyn Dickson of Morristown. Surviving are two sons, Vivian and George C. Williams Jr., both of Roanoke; two nieces Mrs. George Dudley and Mrs. J. S. Gill; and a nephew, Frank Richardson of Morristown."
