During World War II, Warren worked for the United States Laboratory in Albany, California. After the war he moved the family to Fresno, where Warren, his wife and three children started the water well drilling company simply called "W. E. Pannett & Sons" Company.
Warren and his oldest son were instrumental in starting the Central Valley Well Drillers Association. Where the "W. E. Pannett & Sons" were issued the first contractors licences for drilling water wells in the Central Valley. Warren and his oldest son Robert helped write the state test for well drilling.
A major stroke caused Warren to retire at the age of 69 years. His wife and he sold their home in Fresno and moved to Oceano, California. Where he spent his remaining years in a wheelchair.
He is remembered as a very devoted husband and father.

Warren E. Pannett
OCEANO – A funeral service for Warren Eugene Pannett, 86, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of the Grensted Funeral Home in Grover City.
The Rev. Leon Brooks will officiate at the service. Burial will be in the Arroyo Grande Cemetery.
Mr. Pannett died Wednesday at his home after a long illness.
He was born Feb. 17, 1878, in Waverly, Minn.
Mr. Pannett moved to Oceano from Fresno 10 years ago when he retired as a water well driller.
He is survived by his widow, Rev. Marguerite A. Pannett of Oceano; three sons, Robert M. Pannett and Laverne M. Pannett, both of Fresno, and Ralph E. Pannett, San Mateo; two sisters, Mrs Pearl A. Borell and Mrs. Grace L. Sieben, both of Berkeley; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
