Karen was an honor student and ‘Homecoming Queen' at her Leeds H.S. Karen attended Yankton College where she met and married Marshall Phillips of Crofton, NE on August 20, 1957. The couple lived in Lawrence, KS while Marshall completed his Masters and PhD.
Their first child, Elizabeth ‘Tacy' was born in 1961 and Catherine ‘Dori' followed a year later. The family would live in New Orleans, LA before settling in Ames, Iowa.
Karen was an avid Miniatures hobbyist, cook and precision needle worker.
She was beloved by countless friends and family.
Her passing was tragic and unexpected.
