John Apple, Jr, residing three miles northwest of town died Tuesday, a few weeks ago he was injured by a horse throwing him against a wire fence and bruising him considerably. He was taken to his daughter's Mrs William Zerkle and it was here that he passed away. Mr Apple was born January 14, 1830, and was in his 80th year when death overtook him. He leaves a wfie and four sons, Fernando, Charles, Otto, and Walter, and one daughter. Also four brothers survive him, Fred Apple of IN, Adam Apple of St Paris, Abraham Apple of north of town, and Peter Apple who lives south of Fletcher. The funeral is at the Lutheran Church, interment at Spring Grove Cemetery.
