On Friday, June 18, 2021, Lois Lorraine (Hanson) Phillips went to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ, at the age of 93. Lois was born in Spokane on May 15, 1928, to Hilmer and Mae Lillian Hanson. Later that year, her family moved to Kalispell. After her mother died of tuberculosis in 1933, Lois lived with foster parents Charles and Anna Bates of Kalispell. Lois attended Creston School, Kalispell West Side School, and graduated in the Flathead High School Class of 1946. She then went on to graduate from Northwestern Bible School in Minneapolis with a major in Christian education.

In May of 1953, Lois married the love of her life, David Phillips of Kalispell. They had known each other as children and David often commented that when he returned from the Army, he was "pleasantly surprised at how she'd grown up." Lois and David spent their working years back and forth between Fairbanks, Alaska, and Kalispell. They welcomed and raised three children, Martha, Jonathan and Joy. They returned to settle in Kalispell permanently when they retired in 1993.

Lois served the Lord faithfully in her local church family, both at University Park Bible Church in Fairbanks and Central Bible Church in Kalispell. She was active in Sunday School, Bible studies, AWANA, the Missions Committee, and filled in on the piano and organ when needed. She loved music, her family, and most of all, her Savior.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband David, and great-grandchildren Hannah and Keira Rodgers.

She is survived by her three children, Martha Oursland (husband Bill), Jonathan Phillips, and Joy Gregory (husband Dale), seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and five half siblings.

A celebration of Lois' life will be held at noon, Tuesday, June 29, at Central Bible Church in Kalispell. Arrangements are under the care of Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home in Kalispell.
