Ethel Black Calvert, 89, passed from this life on Friday, January 22, 2021 at Heartland Health Care West.

Born in Greenville, South Carolina she is a daughter of the late Claude and Louise McKinney. Ethel will be remembered for her love of music, especially Aretha Franklin and Elvis Presley, as well as her fondness for dancing and how she loved everyone. She was a member of New Life Baptist Church and was retired from Woodside Mill following many years of dedicated service.

Survivors include her children: Claude Black (Shirley), Linda Burns (Calvin), Roger Black, Tina Brazeal (James) and Pam Pearson (Johnny); sisters, Violet Cisson and Faye Fair, as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Ethel is predeceased by her parents, two husbands Charles F. Black, Sr. and Warren Calvert, a daughter Lori Black, a son Charles F. Black, Jr., brothers Joe and Roger McKinney and a grandson Anthony Ingram.

A funeral service will be held 1:30 PM Thursday, January 28, 2021 in the chapel of Cremation Society of SC-Westville Funerals.
