Carvy Oleta Baker Rotz, age 94, of Wichita Falls, formerly of Archer City, Texas passed away Tuesday, June 22, 2021, in Wichita Falls.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 25, 2021, in the Archer City Cemetery with Roger Deerinwater of Archer City officiating under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home.
Carvy Oleta Baker Rotz was born on Jan 17, 1927 in Paducah TX to Carvy Edward (Burly) Baker and Lura Bobbitt Baker. Oleta was raised by her father and beloved step mother Alma Bobbitt Baker after Lura passed away when she was an infant.
During her lifetime, Oleta earned her cosmetology license and her CNA nursing license. She was employed at the Wichita Falls State Hospital and the Archer City Nursing Home. Oleta and Joseph Rotz were married on April 1 1998 in Breckenridge, TX. He preceded her in death on July 31, 2008. Oleta loved her family and was her happiest when everyone was gathered in her home. Oleta enjoyed traveling with her late husband Joe, who literally showed her the world. Oleta was known for her cooking skills and was an avid reader. She enjoyed playing games, cards, working puzzles and writing poetry.
Oleta is survived by son, Jack Whitsitt and wife Kim; grandchildren, Ernest Maxwell, Patricia Maxwell Wallace and husband Charlie, James Maxwell and wife Lori, Joey Maxwell and wife Callie, Jon Whitsitt, Kathryn Burnett, Jennifer Rotz, Elly Michelle Reyes; sister Janice Richardson; sister in law Martha Baker; six great grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Oleta was preceded in death by husbands, H.O. "Mutt" Whitsitt, Floyd Holland, and J.W. Covington; sons, Eddie Bob Maxwell and Ronnie Maxwell; granddaughter, Gail Maxwell Law and great-grandchildren, Kyndra, Ricky, and Richard Law.
