Obituary: Mamie S. Boney (1928~2021)

Mamie Smith Boney was born November 5, 1928 to the union of the late William and Martha Spady Smith in Cedar Grove, Virginia. She departed this life on June 10, 2021 at her home in Cheriton, Va.
Mamie attended Northampton County Public Schools. She worked various jobs including being a line worker at G. L. Webster Canning Co. and Kane and Miller Canning Co.
Mamie met Earl Boney Jr. in 1949 and they married on March 3, 1951. Four children were born to this union which lasted for 47 years.
At an early age, Mamie joined First Baptist Church Capeville. In 1961, she joined African Baptist Church. She was a dedicated and faithful member of African Baptist Church. Mamie served on the Deaconess Board, the Pastor's Aide, and the Senior Usher Board. She received several "Mother of the Year" recognitions including one for 2021.
Mamie was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, brothers, Harrison, Tom, George, Roy, Joe, Curtis, Leonard, Washington, and Joseph; sisters, Mable, Martha, and Tabitha; and son, Ralph Smith.
She leaves to cherish her memories sons, Earl Boney III, Hanson Boney, Andy Boney (Debbie); daughter, Earline Boney Davis (Curtis); nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law; one sister-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
She left this life but not our hearts. May you rest with Jesus until we meet again.
