Prosecutors name the victim in the deadly New Bedford shooting on Wednesday afternoon.
A gunman killed 36-year-old Adilson Neves of New Bedford.
"He's very good, he's a very good kid. He's very nice," Neves' stepmother Julia Lopez said.
Lopez's husband called her soon before speaking with ABC6; telling her Neves passed away at a local hospital.
He's the victim of the latest shooting in New Bedford that happened around 3 p.m. on David Street.
"I feel sad. I don't feel good. I feel so sad," Lopez said.
Police put down evidence markers at the scene of the shooting in front of a commercial building.
Investigators focused their attention on a light-colored vehicle; with shards of glass on the roadway.
"I have to move. There's no way I want to stay here. I don't feel safe around here; at all. It's crazy, I have two kids and what if we were out here?" Cara Medeiros said.
Police were out at the scene, into the evening, trying to figure out who shot Neves and why.
"I love him, I love him so much. I don't know," Lopez said.

A suspect in the murder of a New Bedford man earlier this month has been arrested in North Carolina, the Bristol County District Attorney's Office announced Tuesday.
Daquan Blanchard, 24, of Fall River, was arrested in Greenville, North Carolina, for the June 2 homicide of Adilson Neves, 36, in New Bedford.
Blanchard was found hiding in a closet inside a home and taken into custody without incident by U.S. Marshals officers, according to the district attorney's office.
He is charged with murder and carrying an illegal firearm and will be arraigned as a fugitive from justice in North Carolina.
"I want to thank our State Police Unit, the Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section of the state police and New Bedford Police for their cooperative efforts in working with the U.S. Marshals to locate and arrest the defendant after he had skipped town to avoid apprehension," said Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III in a statement.
