MRS. DAVID PROBASCO DEAD

----------------------------------

Aged Resident of Eureka Passes Away Saturday, August 2nd

Margaret C. Drake was born at Washington Valley, Somerset county, New Jersey, November 31, 1831. She died at Eureka, Illinois, August 2, 1913.

While still residing in the east Miss Drake was married to Mr. Lorenzo Petri. To this union three children were born, viz; a son, who died in infancy, and two daughters, both of whom are also deceased. These were Mrs. Wesley Doty and Mrs. George Hane.

There were two grandchildren by this marriage, the children of Mrs. Doty; of these, one, a grandson, is living; the other, a granddaughter, died in infancy.

Mr. and Mrs. Petri came west in 1854, establishing their home in Tazewell county, Illinois, where Mr. Petri later died.

On May 18, 1866, Mrs. Petri was married to Mr. David S. Probasco. Mr. Probasco died in 1903.

One son and one daughter were born to Mr. and Mrs. Probasco, both of whom survive their parents, viz; Frank D. Probasco and Mrs. William Wilson. There are four grandchildren, viz; Bert S. and Charles F. Probasco and Ethel Marie and Maggie Wilson, all living.

Mrs. Probasco became a member of the Presbyterian church in Eureka by letter. Her children and grown grandchildren have all professed their faith in Christ in this same church.

The experience of Mrs. Probasco in the privilege of residence in the home of her son and near to the home of her daughter to the close of her life has been a rather exceptional one, and her devotion to her children and grandchildren has been touching and beautiful, as has also been the reciprocal affection and devotion of these families to her. Her presence is greatly missed and her memory is most precious.

Reunion in glory in the presence of The Redemer is now the joyful hope and consolation.

The funeral services were held from the late home of the deceased Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Chas. G. Sterling of the Presbyterian church.
