Mrs. Ernest Boyer
Mrs. Camella Boyer, 65, wife of Ernest Boyer of 4 Richview avenue, one of the most prominent women of French descent in this city, died yesterday afternoon at 4 o'clock at her home following an illness of eight weeks. She was operated upon at the New England Deaconess hospital in Boston six weeks ago and had returned to her home two weeks ago. Her condition had been critical since the operation and little hope had been held for her recovery.
Mrs. Boyer was born in Sherrington, Canada, and had lived in North Adams for the past 50 years. She was a kind and devoted mother and deeply interested in the welfare of her family. She was an especially thoughtful and charitable neighbor and friend and was ever ready to respond to any request for aid. The hospitality of her home was widely known and she found much happiness in entertaining relatives and friends. Her death will come as a deep personal loss to her many friends in this city. Mrs. Boyer was a devout member of the Notre Dame church and was also an active member in the various women organizations of the church.
Besides her husband, she leaves four sons, Ernest Jr., Arthur and Henry Boyer of this city, and Armand Boyer of Williamstown, three daughters, Mrs. Ernest Brooks and Mrs. George Garrison of this city and Mrs. William Chenail of Williamstown, her mother, Mrs. Edward West of Altona, N.Y., two sisters, Mrs. Joseph Chenail of Williamstown and Mrs. Augustine Bashaw of Plattsburg, N.Y., five brothers, Joseph West of North Adams, William West of Chazy, N.Y., Henry and Arthur West of Altona and Fred West of Rouse's Point, N.Y., and eight grandchildren.
The funeral will be held on Monday morning at 9 o'clock in Notre Dame church. Burial Will be in Southview cemetery.
