From an undated-unnamed newspaper obituary clipping from 'The Paris Scrapbook' donated by Skipper Steely
Handwritten date: December 21, 1913.

'Abe Ribble, an old resident and well known citizen of Roxton, who was in the sixty-fourth year of his age, died at his home at 7:30 o'clock yesterday morning of cancer of the face, from which he had been a sufferer for many years. He was a native Texan, having been reared in Red River county. He moved with his parents in early childhood to Iowa, but returned with them in a few years and had lived practically nearly all of his life in Lamar county. He followed the profession of school teacher when he grew up, being one of the oldest teachers in the county. He was finally forced to give up teaching and to retire from active life on account of his affliction. He was always regarded as an upright citizen and led an exemplary life among his neighbors. He is survived by his wife and two sons and two daughters, all of whom reside at Roxton. His sons are E. A. Ribble, for several years justice of the peace, and Smith Ribble. The daughters are Mrs. Elsie Rowan and Mrs. Villa Walker. The funeral will take place this afternoon, Elder D. T. Carlton of this city officiating. Interment will be at the Denton graveyard.' *In 1993 this was an unmarked grave. *Information from THE JOURNEY ACROSS AMERICA 1630-1934, by Skipper Steely for Cecile Denton Roden, from her notes and research, published 1985: Abraham Ribble married Idella Patton Denton on 17 Oct 1878.

(*Note* his son E A Ribble is Elbert Auswell Ribble, ok Now this part was in a book about his brother but note that Abe was one of the children gathered around his dying mother & is talked about he had been trying to be a Universalist preacher & also his Father-in-law John Woodson Denton Married his brother Fergus Graham Ribble!.....)
