The son of William & Elizabeth (Brummett) Snider of Jackson, Brown Co IN, James married Elizabeth Brummett (most likely a cousin) on 27 Sep 1853 in Brown Co IN. They had three children beofre he died in the Civil War after serving as a Private in Company C, 22nd Indiana Infantry.
