From 'New York Gazette & General Advertiser' New York, New York, Thursday, Feb 25, 1808: "Died, at the house of Mr. Abraham Varick, No.56 Water-street, Miss Elizabeth Douglass, daughter of the late George Douglass, merchant, formerly from this city. The relatives and friends of the family and of the deceased are invited to attend the funeral at 4 o'clock tomorrow afternoon."

From the 'New York Herald' January 13, 1810: "Died, this morning of a billious cholic, after an illness of 20 hours, Mrs. Phoebe Varick, wife of Mr. Abraham Varick. The relations and friends of the family are requested to attend the funeral from 56 Water st. tomorrow afternoon at half past 3 o'clock."

From the 'Columbian' New York-New York, March 1, 1813: "On Saturday evening last, after a long and painful illness, Mr. Abraham Varick, formerly a merchant of this city, in the 63rd year of his age. The relatives and friends of the family are requested to attend the funeral from the residence of his son, Mr. John V. B. Varick, No. 56 Water-street, at 4 o'clock tomorrow afternoon, without further invitation."
