Aubrey attended high school in Idabel, Oklahoma and Oklahoma University majoring in Business Administration. Aubrey spent his professional career with Standard Oil of Indiana for 37 years. He served there as District Manager of the Lake Charles, Louisana District Office, Division Manager of the Pan American (Amoco) New Orleans office, President of Pan American Libya Oil, President of Pan American Indonesia, Worldwide Manager of Crude Oil Sales and Transportation for Amoco International Oil Company in New York City, and Vice President of Amoco Egypt Oil Company in Cairo, Egypt where he resided for 10 years before retiring to Solvang, CA. in 1977.
Aubrey was an active member of the Rotary of Club of Santa Ynez Valley, a 32nd Degree Mason, and a supporter of the YMCA in Santa Barbara County, CA. He attended the Church of Christ in his youth and joined with his wife Teresa in attending the First Church of Christ, Scientist for many years. He was active as Scoutmaster in Boy Scouts with his sons.
An outgoing and engaging man, Aubrey always enjoyed living his fellow Oklahoman Will Rogers' saying, "I never met a man I didn't like." As an international oil executive Aubrey met with many important government and business leaders forging important agreements for exploration and production that were very successful for Amoco worldwide.
He and Teresa were especially fond of their work and lives in Louisiana, Egypt, Libya and Indonesia. His deep and abiding faith, his loyalty to his company and his associates there, his love of family and friends were expressions of the beautifully honest and quiet character of the man. Memorial services will be held 2:00PM May 13, 2006 .
