Mary worked as a secretary at Ford Motor Credit in Lafayette for over 30 years. She enjoyed photography, going to the beach, camping, researching genealogy, music and reading. Most of all, Mary loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Easton Hayes of Breaux Bridge, LA; sons, Leo Hayes (Lynette) of Nashville, TN, Kevin Hayes (Jeanine) of Luling and Thomas Hayes of Breaux Bridge; daughter, Patricia Begnaud of Opelousas; special niece, who was like a daughter, Faye Broussard of OK; grandchildren, Hunter Hayes of Nashville, TN, Harrison Hayes of Breaux Bridge, Christopher Begnaud (Ruth) of Colorado Springs, CO, Aaron Begnaud of Lafayette, Melissa Mary-Hayes Ardoin (Jascha) of Youngsville, Justin Hayes (Sarah) of Lafayette, Victoria Heyl (Dylan) of Harahan, Brooks Dupuis (Debra) of Lafayette, Bethany Dupuis of Destrehan, Beau Dupuis (Amanda) of Destrehan and Britt Dupuis of Destrehan; and great-grandchildren, Cameron, Logan, Sophie, Autum, Maggie, Duke, Elizabeth, Brenna, Brylee and Grayson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Alfreda Trosclair Bergeron; brothers, Melvin "Black" Bergeron and Merlin Bergeron; sisters, Melba Richard and Mildred Allemand; and in-laws, Anne Lou Champagne and Sauvol Hayes.
