Breaux Bridge - A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm, on Thursday, May 19, 2016, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge, for Melvin "T-Black" Peter Bergeron, 83, who passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2016.

Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.

Mr. Bergeron enjoyed training his dogs, watching the hummingbirds outside, and many all types of racing including horses, boats, and cars. Most of all, he cherished moments spent with family and friends. Mr. Bergeron will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his daughter, Bertha Lee B. Bourque of St. Martinville; step sons, Earl Landry, Preston Landry, Shelton Landry; step daughters, Doris Belaire, Earline Theriot, Estelle Blanchard; sisters, Mary Hayes and husband Easton of Anse La Butte, Mildred Allemond of Opelousas; grandchildren, Stacy Persilver, Jenny Bouquet and husband Mike; great grandchildren, Caleb Bourque, Chelsie Bourque, Colby Bourque, Mikayle Bouquet, and Jarret Fontenot; great-great grandchild, Daxx Fontenot; 13 step grandchildren; 26 step great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Vivian Theriot Bergeron; father, Willie John Bergeron; mother, Alfreda Trosclair Bergeron; daughter and son in law, Brenda and Donald Carline; companions, Ada Duhon and Jessie Messex; brother, Merlin Bergeron; sister, Melba Bergeron; grandchild, Michael Bourque; son in law, Nelson Bourque; step daughter, Iris Landry; and two step grandchildren, B.J. and Kristie.
