Isaac Wayne Rothgeb, was born on November 1, 1939 to John Frank and Edith Virginia (Racer) Rothgeb in Luray, VA.

He was raised and schooled in Luray and he graduated from Luray High School with the class of 1958.

After graduating from high school, Isaac enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and he proudly served his county for twenty years. Isaac had been stationed in Alaska, Goose Bay in Labrador Canada, and at Offutt Air Force Base in Bellevue, NE.

Isaac met Nancy Ann Schmitz and they were later married on August 20, 1969 in Bellevue, NE. Isaac and Nancy moved to Murray in 1973, where they made their home and raised their children. Isaac was the Murray Fire Chief of fifteen years.
