Mangawhare (Dargaville, NZ) , her father Matthew Marriner had been placed there as Manager of the store that Mr Atkins brought the land for and set up in 1849. By 1861 Mr Atkins had wound up his business interests in New Zealand and had presented the Mangawhare Block and business to Mr John Campbell (Presumably to pay off his debt) who incorporated this into the holdings of Brown Campbell and Co. who continued running and expanding the business with Mr A (William) Marriner remaining as Manager.
