She was born on March 10, 1936, to Robert and Lola (Early) Harper in Almena, Kansas and married her sweetheart, Kenneth on August 5, 1956. He preceded her in passing on June 14, 2009.
Viola is survived by her son: Greg (Shari) King; sisters: Naomi King and Martha Lewis; brother: William Harper; 3 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter: Cheryl King; 4 brothers; 1 sister and 1 great-grandchild.
Viola was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Bloomington for many years. She loved to needlepoint, watch gameshows and to knit afghans for her family. Viola was also a very kind and loving woman, any time anyone every needed any help she was there to lend a hand anyway she could.
A public visitation will be held on Friday June 4th from 12 - 1pm with a funeral service at East Lawn Funeral Home, 1102 Airport Road and burial to follow at East Lawn Memorial Gardens, 1002 Airport Road, Bloomington.
Memorial contributions may be made to: First Church of the Nazarene or to the Apostolic Christian Home in Eureka, IL.
