1960 – EARL H. BURGIN
Funeral services for Mr. Earl Hicks Burgin, 58, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Baptist Church in Tioga. Mr. Burgin died Sunday afternoon at his home in Tioga after being ill for several weeks. Officiating at the services were Rev. Jess Avres and Father H.G. Ball. Burial was in the Tioga Cemetery under the direction of Richards-Beck Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Richard Ferguson Sr., Edwin Kruger, M? Brown, Billy Ray Ferguson and ? Boslovasky and Walter Bell.
Mr. Burgin was born February 21, 1901 at Ethel, Texas. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Burgin. He married Mrs. Jeanine Nutt on February 10, 1933 at Marietta, Okla. He was a retired grocery man and a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Nan Martin of Tioga, one grandson of Tioga; six brothers, J.E. Burgin of Whitesboro, W.E. Burgin of Carlsbad, New Mexico, Joe B. Burgin of Floydada, Wayne Burgin of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Jay Burgin and Ollie B. Burgin of Denison; two sisters, Mrs. Gladys Thompson of Collinsville and Mrs. Laura Gilmore of Gainesville; several grandchildren.
