GLADYS THOMPSON
Services were conducted Monday, December 10, at 10:00 a.m. in the Huff Funeral Chapel in Whitesboro for Mrs. Gladys Thompson, 83, of Whitesboro. She died Friday, December 7, 1979, at the Medical Plaza Hospital in Sherman.
Rev. Rickey Thomason, pastor of the Nazarene Church of Whitesboro, conducted the services.
Burial was at the Ethel Cemetery under the direction of Huff Funeral Home of Whitesboro.
Mrs. Thompson was born on July 28, 1896 in the Ethel community, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Hicks Burgin. She married Melvin F. Thompson on December 8, 1915 in Sherman.
She was a housewife and a member of the Nazarene Church of Whitesboro.
Survivors include: three sons, Donald Thompson of Napa, Calif., Billy Thompson of Denton, and Bobby Thompson of Dallas; two daughters, Mrs. Lois Blomberg of St. Paul, Minn., and Mrs. Leta Vannoy of Collinsville; three brothers, Wayne Burgin of Oklahoma City, Okla., Jay Burgin of Colbert, Okla., and Ollie B. Burgin of Denison; a sister, Mrs. Laura Gilmore of Gainesville; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were A.E. McKenzie, J.C. Walsh, J.E. Applegate, Sam Hendrickson, O.M. Quattlebaum, and Lee Scoggin.
