FUNERAL SERVICES TUESDAY FOR MRS. MELVIN DAVIS
Funeral services were at Holman's funeral home Tuesday, afternoon for Mrs. Melvin Davis of Springfield. She died at the family home in Springfield Saturday night.
Rev. George Wilson of Cole Camp but a former pastor of the Methodist church at Sleeper conducted the funeral. Robert Conner, soloist sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "Abide With Me."

Pall bearers were long time friends of the Davis and Fulbright families of the Dry Glaize and included Roy Fulbright, Jack Kinnett, Marvin Goss, Clyde Fulbright, William Smith, Don Willard.

Floy Fulbright, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Fulbright pioneer, citizens of Greenstreet school district was born February 17, 1881 and grew to womanhood in the family home.
She was married September 7, 1904 to Melvin Davis, member of another pioneer Laclede County. She preserved her lovely lace wedding dress for her burial robe.

They lived for some time in St. Louis but later went to Oklahoma where they lived from 1914 to 1932. They then went to a farm in Arkansas where they remained until 1942 and then returned to the old home in Laclede County.
They moved to Springfield in 1946 and spent the remainder of her life there.

She leaves besides her husband, a sister, Mrs. Raymond Crow, former Hope Fulbright and two brothers, Guy Fulbright, Whittier, Calif., and John Fulbright, Beaumont, Tex.

James Atchley of Lebanon is a nephew. His mother, the former Mrs. Monta Fulbright Atchley died several years ago.
