Galena, Kan., Jan. 28.--Loren S. |Johnson, 46 years old, former Galena resident, died at 8:15 o'clock last night at his home, 423 Wyandotte avenue, Baxter Springs, following a three months' illness.
Mr. Johnson, who was born in Illinois, had lived most of his life in Galena, moving to Baxter Springs last May. He was a miner and was a member of the Assembly of God church at Baxter Springs.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Mable Johnson of Baxter Springs; his mother, Mrs. Minnie Cox of Galena; two stepsons, Robert Wyren and Willard Wyren of Galena; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Jack Wells of Baxter Springs; four brothers, Everett Johnson, Frank Johnson and Louis Johnson of Galena and John Johnson of Tulare, Calif.; four sisters, Mrs. Julia Smith and Mrs. Tressa Mason of Des Moines, Ia., Mrs. Wavedell Labor of California and Mrs. Verda Huffman of Galena, and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Assembly of God church in Galena, with the Rev. Forrest Lewis of Baxter Springs and the Rev. M. M. Brewer of Galena officiating. Burial will be in Hill Crest cemetery at Galena under direction of the Derfelt-Booe funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Buck Dean, Jim Canady, Carl Harvey, Bill Webb, Harry Nausley and Walter Briggs.
The body will lie in state at the Derfelt-Booe funeral parlors until the funeral hour.

Johnson, 46 years old, who died Thursday night at his home in Baxter Springs, will be conducted at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Assembly of God church in Galena, with the Rev. Forrest Lewis of Baxter Springs and the Rev. M. M. Brewer of Galena in charge. Burial will be in Hillcrest cemetery at Galena, under the direction of the Derfelt-Booe funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Buck Dean, Jim Canady, Carl Harvey, Bill Webb, Harry Nausley and Walter Briggs.
The body will lie in state at the Derfelt-Booe funeral parlors until
the funeral hour.
