Arthur Gideon Squires was born June 22, 1872 in Nelson Township, Kent county. He passed away at his home in East Fork on May 14, 1946 after a short illness at the age of 73 years, 10 months and 22 days. He was united in marriage to Annie Wilson-Edwards on April 22,1896 at the age of 24. They lived in the community for many years. Annie preceeded him in death on June 11, 1941. He missed her so much and many times remarked he would be glad when he could go to. To this union five children were born; Vernon Dean, Albert Leroy, William Robert, Lewis Arthur and Bertha Belle (Thorson). Surviving him are 17 grandchildren, two sisters and one brother. During his last illness he made peace with GOD, being so happy that he could join his wife "over there". Arthur's father was Gideon Squires and his mother was Sarah (Loucks).
