Joe Harold Wofford Sr., 82, of Muskogee, Oklahoma entered his eternal Heavenly home Tuesday, May 11, 2021. He was born November 30, 1938 in Okay, Oklahoma to Olen Harold and Dollie Edith (Murdock) Wofford.

He attended Okay Public School from which he graduated in 1956. Joe furthered his education at Ozark Bible College in Joplin, Missouri where he obtained his Bachelor of Sacred Literature in 1971.

Joe married the love of his life, Barbara Sue Ritchie on May 20, 1956 in Fort Gibson at the home of Carlos Knight. They shared more than 65 years of life, marriage, and memories together.

He served churches in Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Puerto Rico. Joe was an inspiration to many people. He had a strong faith and trusted God to get him through the difficulties of life. He enjoyed attending church, preaching, and teaching God's Word. Now Joe stands in the presence of the Lord, hearing the Lord say, "Well done my good and faithful servant. Come and enjoy that which I have prepared for you."

Family was always important to Joe, there was such a strong bond between the family.
He was a member of York Street Christian Church and was heavily involved in church missions. He was the minister of East Point Christian Church when he retired.
Joe enjoyed traveling, gardening, playing the harmonica, and working on sewing machines.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Olen and Dollie Wofford; siblings, Helen Rice, Mary Nell McCullough, and Richard Wofford; daughter-in-law, Lanette Wofford; special aunt, Martha Briery; and cousin, Warren Briery.

Joe is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Sue of the home; sons, Joe H. Wofford Jr., Jackie Lee Wofford and wife Ellen, Jesse Dale Wofford and wife Roxanna; brothers, Olen Wofford and wife Pat, LeRoy Wofford and wife Debbie; grandchildren, Alicia Herringshaw, Chris Dugan, Erica Bales, Jared Wofford, Nick Wofford, Jeff Wofford and Jordan Wofford; 10 great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law, Paulette Fleming and Katie Austin; brother-in-law, Jack Ritchie; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Funeral services celebrating Joe's life will be 1PM, Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gene Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhill Cemetery with Jared Wofford, Jeff Wofford, Jordan Wofford, Nick Wofford, Marc Herringshaw and Rick Wofford serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Wofford, Abner Miller and Dennis Yochum.
