McCammon - Parley Pratt Bowman, 73, McCammon, died this morning at a Pocatello hospital following a long illness.

He was born Aug. 24, 1883, at Richmond, Utah, son of Hyrum W. and Maria Eskelson Bowman. He lived at Richmond until he was 12 years old, then moved to Cambridge, near Downey, with his parents. He married Ethel Perdella HJohnson (sic) at the Logan, Utah, LDS temple. Feb. 8, 1907.

Mr. Bowman farmed at Cambridge until 1938 when he came to McCammon where he farmed until they moved to Pocatello in 1942, where he worked as a watchman for the Union Pacific Railroad until 1945. He and his wife then moved back to McCammon.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served as a ward teacher for a number of years. Mr. Bowman was a sports fan, having played baseball for Downey teams in his youth. He served as trustee of Cambridge school district for 15 years.

Mr. and Mrs. Bowman celebrated their golden wedding anniversary last month.

He is survived by his widow, one son, Harris J., Pocatello; four daughters, Mrs. Karl (Marian) Rom?, Mrs. Berniece Evans, both of McCammon, Mrs. Kenneth (Marietta) Wilkins, Salt Lake City and Mrs. John (Alice) Watkins of Inglewood, Colorado; one brother, Frank Bowman, Alameda; one sister, Mrs. John Ba?, Downey, 23 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. at the McCommon LDS ward chapel with Bishop Joseph Morris officiating. His body will be at the family home from Friday night until Saturday time of services. Burial will be in Cambridge cemetery under the direction of the Manning Funeral Chapel, Pocatello.
