Sarah Elizabeth Fling, 90, of Evadale, Texas passed away Monday, May 10, 2021 at Hemphill Care Center.
Sarah was born January 31, 1931 in Mt. Selman, Texas to Leonard Bickerstaff and Lula Hamilton Bickerstaff. She attended Lamar University obtaining her bachelors degree in education. She went on to teach fourth grade for many years. Sarah enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing and going shopping whenever she got the chance. Above all else Sarah cherished her family and loved ones.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Burt Fling of Evadale; son, Roy Lynn Fling and wife, Christi of Evadale; daughter, Margo Colhoun and husband, Tony of Evadale; sisters, Marilyn Roberts of Shreveport, LA; special nephew, Alex Gobert of Shreveport, Louisiana; five grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren.
Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Lula Bickerstaff; and her sister, Barbara Bickerstaff.
A funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Central Baptist Church in Evadale, Texas, 120 Private Road 8325, Evadale, TX 77615 with Bro. William Withers and Bro. Roger Hoogterp officiating.
A visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. before the funeral service.
Burial will follow services in Oak Hill Cemetery in Yellowpine, Texas with Sarah's Grandsons serving as pallbearers.
