Loveda E. Shadwell (Kingery), age 87 of Portage, IN passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2020 in Valparaiso, IN. She was born on August 2, 1933 in Mount Vernon, IL. She was the only child to Harold E. and Loretta M. (Fenton) Trout.
Loveda is survived by her seven children, Harold (Marsha) Kingery of Hudson, FL, Judy (William) Vaughn of Pinson, AL. and Karen (Jim Sr.) Helmecy of Portage, IN., Vicky (Benny) Wright of Portage, IN, Tom (April) Kingery of Lake Station, IN, Tim Kingery and Lydia Cole of Lake Station, IN, Dr. Thomas Zmierski and Trudy Cunningham (Kingery) of Lake Station, IN. She has 15 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; one step son; two step grandchildren; ; six step great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In her earlier years she was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 260 in Portage, IN and held the office of treasurer. She was an avid bowler and loved playing bingo and Yahtzee. Loveda was a member of Portage First United Methodist Church and loved attending church services until her health would not allow her to. Loveda was retired from the Anderson Company where she worked for many years.
Private services will be held for Loveda at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, Portage, IN with Pastor Michael Lawson officiating. Loveda will be laid to rest at Heritage Cemetery, Portage, IN
