He was born February 15, 1900 in Natchez to Richard Josiah and Cora Chaney Green. He was a member of the Covington Road Church of Christ and owner of R. J. Green Sheet Metal Company since 1946. He was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Lee Green and two brothers, Ernest Green and Willie Green and one sister, Stella Powers.
Survivors include four children: Lawrence Green of New Orleans, LA, Richard Green, Jr. of Natchez; Billy Green of Livermore, CA; and Helen Freeman of Natchez; two sisters Inez Stewart of Brookhaven and Susie Gould of Wilmington, IL; 20 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Robert Green, Jerry Green, Sam Tuccio, Randy Freeman, Larry Freeman and Tallmadge Anderson.
In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the American Heart Association.
