Leonard W. Yost, 98 of Mt. Prospect was born in Lincoln, Nebraska to Henry and Pauline Yost and passed away May 5, 2021 with his devoted family by his side. Leonard was the beloved husband of the late Irene; loving father of Sharon (Tom) Habing, Cynthia (Wayne) Nevsimal and the late Marilyn (Martin) Murphy; cherished grandfather of Brian (Geeia) Habing, Joy (Shane) Lindquist, Jill (Steve) Johnson, Ryan Murphy and Rachael Nevsimal; great-grandfather of Jessica, Jennifer, Joshua and Kevin; great great-grandfather of Emily, Lilly, Riley, Zoey, Alana and Chloe. He was the dear brother of Dolores Yost of Lincoln NE and the late Richard Yost and Donald Yost.

Leonard was a proud member of the Scottish Rite, a 32nd degree Mason and member of King Oscar Lodge #855 in Chicago. Leonard was a fond co-worker and friend to many having worked at Illinois Masonic Medical Center for 40 years.

Visitation will be Monday, May 10, 2021 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM with a Funeral Service officiated by St. Paul Lutheran Church at Lauterburg & Oehler Funeral Home, 2000 E. Northwest Highway, Arlington Heights. In consideration of the safety of our guests and associates, Lauterburg & Oehler Funeral Home will adhere to the current gathering restrictions in the state of Illinois, which allow 50 or fewer guests at services. Proper social distancing must be practiced and all guests will be required to wear face masks at all times. Please be prepared to wait for entry into the funeral home. Thank you for your cooperation.

Interment will be Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at Eagle River Cemetery in Eagle River, Wisconsin.
